Mom cuts the stone.
Pop sets it.
Mom & Pop Rocks is exactly what it sounds like — a two-person studio where every piece passes through four hands. No factory, no production line, no stone that hasn’t been argued over at least once.
It started with a bucket of gravel
The first stone was an accident. A family trip, a creek bed, and a pocketful of rocks that were too pretty to leave behind. They sat in a garage for two years — until we bought a used trim saw and ruined about forty of them learning how they wanted to be cut.
What we found in those forty failures was the thing that keeps us at the wheel: a rock is never finished until it’s finished. The dull grey exterior tells you almost nothing. You have to cut it to find out what’s inside, and sometimes the answer is spectacular.
Forty-some years later, that’s still the whole job. We read the rough, we cut to follow the pattern, we take it up through the grits until it holds a mirror, and then we build something you can actually wear. What changed is that we stopped ruining so many.

Three rules we don’t bend
We cut it ourselves
Nothing leaves the bench that we didn't shape by hand. No outside shop, no shortcuts, no stone we haven't personally held up to the light.
Your stone comes first
A stone with a story matters more than a stone with a certificate. If yours has a chip or a fracture, we design around it instead of hiding it.
Honest answers
Some rough simply won't hold up. We'd rather tell you that on day one than take your money and hand back a disappointment.
